Episode 202

The Beach Boys | Insomnia | Bay of Fires | A League of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip

Ian MacEwan and Hannah Fernando review the biggest new shows on UK streaming services for the week beginning Friday 24th May 2024, including:

The Beach Boys on Disney+ is a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come.

Romesh, Jamie, Micah, and Jill take on a series of challenges as they set out on a road trip across Mexico, experiencing all that the country has to offer, from Day of the Dead parades to lucha libre wrestling in A League of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip on Now TV.

Successful career woman Emma Averill (Vicky McClure) fears that she is losing her mind as her hard-won lifelong dream begins to turn into a nightmare, forcing her to do everything she can to prevent it from collapsing around her in Paramount Plus drama Insomnia.

Showcasing Tasmania’s rugged west coast, Bay Of Fires on ITVX tells the story of Stella (Marta Dusseldorp), who unexpectedly finds herself in a small, remote community. But it’s not the kind of place they put on postcards – it is instead rife with simmering feuds, crime and sometimes, murder.
